When I bought a copy of the rather tiny looking red badge of courage by stephen crane. A bit of research on the subject revealed that it was one of the greatest work on war fiction. For then nobody knew that the book written as an eyewitness account of the first world war by an amateur chap who makes a hasty decision to join the army was written by an equally amateur writer who hadn't even seen a single war, solely collecting pieces of information from war veterans. So if this can be a literary magnum opus then. I found something equally great today in purpose but diametrically opposite in approach. Inorder to write this book the author joins a NFL team as the quarterback and cuts out A sorry figure of himself in a series. The coaches knew of the hoax, players did'nt. But then the result is something quoted as greatest in sports writing. Mebbe not as the book talks less about actual sports but a great deal about how it happens in a team. Waiting for someone to do this in boxing too..... apologise for the typos.this tiny qwerty keypad of phone is no match for the gorilla fingers. Wink #thinkaboutfingering.
